Non-traditional Wedding Day Ideas

Here are a couple of ideas that will make your special day unique to you and your partner. Remember that your wedding day is for you and your partner, not for anyone else so do whatever you want to make it special for you both!

Have speeches or first dance directly after your ceremony - One of the moments during the day where you have everyone's attention is during the ceremony. Having your speeches or first dance directly after the ceremony while everyone is still seated is a great way to celebrate you and your partner.
Involve your grandparents - Change it up and have your grandparents involved in your ceremony a bit differently. You could have your grandmas as your flower girls and your grandpas as your ring bearers.
Private vows - If you aren't comfortable with saying your vows in front of all your guests you could switch it up by saying your vows privately to each other before or after the ceremony. I had a couple that chose to go this route before and it was a beautiful private moment before their actual ceremony where they said their vows to each other and then during the actual ceremony they exchanged rings and signed all the paperwork.
Go on a pub crawl - Have a small ceremony with your closest loved ones and then head out in your wedding gear to meet up with more of your guests for a pub crawl. You could make it a bit more special by choosing places that have sentimental value to you and your partner and your relationship.
Choose more than one day - This one might not be non-traditional anymore since I see a lot of couples doing this more now, but have your ceremony and reception on different days. You might want your ceremony and reception at different locations or different people at each event, so make it easier by splitting up the days.
Get ready together - Wake up with each other and spend the morning together. You can have a chill morning together, have breakfast and coffee, and help each other get ready! P.s it is not that crazy to see each other before the wedding!
Choose a friend - Make your day even more special by having a friend or family member “officiate” your wedding and have the legal stuff complete another time. I have even seen it done where you have an officiant there to watch the ceremony and sign off on the legal documents. If you want someone who knows you are your partner then this is the route to go!
Games, games, games - Sometimes photos can take a bit longer than expected and your guests can get restless. Have some games at your cocktail hour for your guests to enjoy!
