8 ways to honour loved ones at your wedding
If you’re finding yourself part of this unfortunate club, I’m sorry, and know that I’m right there with you. I think it’s important to find special ways to remember and honour your loved ones who have passed, knowing that they are there with you on your wedding day.
Here are a few ways on how to honour loved ones at your wedding who have passed:
Attach photos of them on a charm to your bouquet or suit pocket so they can walk you down the aisle.
Carry a picture frame of them with you down the aisle. I had my mom carry a photo of my dad down the aisle so it was like he was also walking me down.
Have photos or memories of your loved ones out on a table at your reception. This couple included an audio sound of the groom’s father’s laughter at their head table.
Wear a piece of jewellery that was significant to them or holds meaning. I wore my grandmothers coral ring that she wore everyday. I also wore a necklace that my family made me with a sweet message written in my dad's handwriting.
Save a seat for them at the ceremony or reception with a photo of them on the seat.
Light a candle for them.
Incorporate their memory into your evening somehow - this couple created drinks and named them after their father and dogs who had passed away.
Talk about them & acknowledge them if you want to, don't let them be forgotten.
